22 momme

Momme is the weight of silk per square metre. Ours is 22 momme, about 95 g/m²: a dense, fluid silk.

Measured in the laboratory on our pillowcase silk: 22.9 momme (SGS, 2025).

Mulberry silk is graded by the length and evenness of its fibres. Grade 6A is the highest grade of the trade scale: long, regular filaments, for a smooth, even surface.

I class

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 tests every component for harmful substances. Class I is the class for baby articles: the strictest of the four.

Care & Wash

Keep your silk luminous. Gentle wash, gentler dry, a touch of steam.

  • Composition 100% Mulberry Silk (Grade 6A), 22 momme
Wash
  • Cold delicate cycle (≤30°C) or hand wash.
  • Use pH-neutral silk detergent. No bleach or enzymes.
  • Turn inside out, wash in mesh bag to reduce abrasion.
  • Rinse gently; do not wring.
Dry
  • Lay flat on a towel; blot, then reshape.
  • Air dry away from direct sun or heat.
  • No tumble dry.
Steam / Iron
  • Steam lightly from the reverse side to lift creases.
  • If ironing, use silk setting with pressing cloth. No spray starch.
Tips
  • Wash with similar fabrics to avoid pilling from coarse textiles.
  • Avoid rough pillowcases and harsh detergents.
  • Store away from direct sun; rotate pairs for longevity.

Bonnet questions, softly answered

A few details before choosing your overnight silk coverage.

Is the Cover made for my hair?

Yes, if your hair is long, thick, curly or coily, or in braids, locs or twists: its long tail gives it all the room it needs.

How do I tuck my hair in?

Put the cap on first, with the elastic around your face, then lay your lengths, braids or locs into the tail, which falls behind your head and over the pillow. Keep the hair dry and loose inside.

What size is it?

One size: a soft elastic from 54 cm relaxed to 72 cm stretched, about 27 to 36 cm measured flat. The cap is 25 cm deep and the tail adds 56 cm for generous lengths.

Silk or satin: what’s the difference?

Satin names a weave, often polyester; silk is the fibre itself. The Cover is woven from 100% mulberry silk, 22 momme, Grade 6A, so curls, coils and braids rest on real silk all night.

Which colour is the Cover?

The Cover comes in black, one deep shade for every night.

How do I care for it?

Hand wash, or machine wash at 30 °C on a delicate cycle in a mesh bag, with a pH-neutral silk detergent; no bleach, no fabric softener, no tumble dryer. Dry flat, away from direct sun. The full method is under “Care”.

What if the shape isn’t right for me?

Every order comes with our 90-night trial: you can return it, even used, within 90 nights of delivery, with the full price refunded and a free return, wherever you are.
