Momme is the weight of silk per square metre. Ours is 22 momme, about 95 g/m²: a dense, fluid silk.

Measured in the laboratory on our pillowcase silk: 22.9 momme (SGS, 2025).

Mulberry silk is graded by the length and evenness of its fibres. Grade 6A is the highest grade of the trade scale: long, regular filaments, for a smooth, even surface.

I class

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 tests every component for harmful substances. Class I is the class for baby articles: the strictest of the four.

Care & Wash

Keep your silk luminous. Gentle wash, gentler dry, a touch of steam.

Wash
  • Cold delicate cycle (≤30°C) or hand wash.
  • Use pH-neutral silk detergent. No bleach or enzymes.
  • Turn inside out, wash in a mesh bag to reduce abrasion.
  • Rinse gently; do not wring.
Dry
  • Lay flat on a towel; blot, then reshape.
  • Air dry away from direct sun or heat.
  • No tumble dry.
Steam / Iron
  • Steam lightly from the reverse side to lift creases.
  • If ironing, use silk setting with a pressing cloth.
Tips
  • Wash with similar fabrics to avoid abrasion from coarse textiles.
  • Avoid harsh detergents and fabric softeners.

Standard or Euro: which size should I choose?

Standard 50 × 70 cm for a rectangular pillow, in Gold or Rose gold. Euro 65 × 65 cm for a square pillow, in Gold; it also fits a 60 × 60 cm pillow. Measure your pillow flat, seam to seam.

What does “antibacterial” mean?

Our 22 momme mulberry silk carries a silver-ion finish: 99.7% antibacterial activity, measured on the fabric to ISO 20743 and retained after 50 washes. The regulatory information (treated article) is on this page.

How do I care for it and keep the finish?

Hand wash, or machine wash at 30 °C on a delicate cycle, inside out in a mesh bag, with a pH-neutral silk detergent; no bleach, no fabric softener. Dry flat, away from direct sun; no tumble dryer. Two pillowcases let you alternate between washes and dress the whole bed.

Can you see the closure?

No. It is an envelope closure: an inner flap holds the pillow, with no zip and no metal, for a perfectly smooth face of silk.

Gold or Rose gold?

Gold is a pale champagne gold, luminous on white or ivory linen. Rose gold is a soft powder pink. Both carry the tone-on-tone embroidered S monogram; the Euro size comes in Gold.

Silk pillowcase or bonnet: do I need both?
