A soft hold, in silk. Our fullest scrunchie, the XL, holds top knots and thick hair and is worn like jewellery: its elastic is wrapped in 22-momme mulberry silk, which lets hair glide instead of rubbing.

What you are buying.

22 momme

Momme is the weight of silk per square metre. Ours is 22 momme, about 95 g/m²: a dense, fluid silk.

Measured in the laboratory on our pillowcase silk: 22.9 momme (SGS, 2025).

Mulberry silk is graded by the length and evenness of its fibres. Grade 6A is the highest grade of the trade scale: long, regular filaments, for a smooth, even surface.

I class

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 tests every component for harmful substances. Class I is the class for baby articles: the strictest of the four.

Will it dent my hair?

Hair glides over silk instead of rubbing. Wear it a little looser for the lightest hold.

Can I wear it to sleep?

Yes. The Large is roomy enough to tie your hair loosely at night, and the XL suits fuller or curly hair.

What is it made of?

100% mulberry silk, 22 momme, Grade 6A, around an elastic core, certified OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 (certificate 26.HCN.36686).

Which colours are there?

Five shades in every size: Rose gold, Gold, Bronze, Burgundy and Silver, to match the eye mask and the GiftBox colourways.

How do I wash it?

Hand wash with a pH-neutral silk detergent; no bleach, no fabric softener. Press gently in a towel and dry flat, away from direct sun.

Care & Wash

Keep your silk luminous. Gentle wash, gentler dry, a touch of steam.

  • Composition 100% Mulberry Silk (Grade 6A), 22 momme
Wash
  • Cold delicate cycle (≤30°C) or hand wash.
  • Use pH-neutral silk detergent. No bleach or enzymes.
  • Turn inside out, wash in mesh bag to reduce abrasion.
  • Rinse gently; do not wring.
Dry
  • Lay flat on a towel; blot, then reshape.
  • Air dry away from direct sun or heat.
  • No tumble dry.
Steam / Iron
  • Steam lightly from the reverse side to lift creases.
  • If ironing, use silk setting with pressing cloth. No spray starch.
Tips
  • Wash with similar fabrics to avoid pilling from coarse textiles.
  • Avoid rough pillowcases and harsh detergents.
  • Store away from direct sun; rotate pairs for longevity.
