Is Silk Actually Good for Hot Sleepers?

Cool to the touch is not the same as cool all night

When a fabric first touches the skin, heat moves from the warmer surface into the cooler material. Silk versus polyester satin in a warm room

Silk is a fibre. Satin is a weave. A satin pillowcase may therefore be silk, polyester or another material. The distinction becomes especially relevant for warm sleepers because a label that says only “satin” does not reveal how the fibre will feel when warmth and moisture meet the surface.

Polyester satin remains a legitimate budget choice. It can be smooth, easy to care for and initially cool to the touch.
